Description:1-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)piperazine (1-DCPP) is an amide that binds to the allosteric site of bacterial enzymes and inhibits their activity. 1-DCPP binds to the enzyme's active site, which prevents it from binding to its substrate. This inhibition can lead to bacterial cell death due to a lack of cellular energy production and the accumulation of toxic metabolites. 1-DCPP has also been shown to inhibit cholinesterase, an enzyme involved in neurotransmitter reuptake. In addition, 1-DCPP has antibacterial activity against a number of bacteria including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
