The DMTT binds to polybenzimidazole and produces morphological changes in the polymer chains, which may be due to its ability to induce aggregation and crosslinking of polybenzimidazole chains. DMTT can also be used as a precursor for other molecules by reacting with polybenzimidazoles under certain conditions.
