2,3-Dichlorofluorobenzene is a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon that is used as a pesticide. It is an electron acceptor and reacts with fluorine to form 2,3-dichloro-1,4-difluoro-benzene. The reaction time for the formation of a product can be determined by using quantum theory and the trichlorobenzene as a reference point. The chlorine in this compound is readily substituted with other halides. This substitution pattern provides selective reactivity between 2,3-dichlorofluorobenzene and different substrates. Fluoride ion also reacts with 2,3-dichlorofluorobenzene to form 2,3-difluoroaniline.
