Product Information
AR 7 is a light emitting compound that is used as a fluorescent probe to study the translation of proteins in living cells. It has been shown to have potential as an antiviral agent for the treatment of infectious diseases. AR 7 also shows promise for use in cancer and inflammatory diseases, due to its ability to inhibit autophagy. AR 7 is classified as a polyaromatic hydrocarbon with a long alkyl chain containing nitrogen atoms. This molecule emits light when excited by blue or ultraviolet radiation and has the ability to penetrate tissue. The fluorescence emission spectrum of AR 7 is different than other aromatic hydrocarbons because it contains a hydroxyl group on one end of its alkyl chain, which absorbs light at wavelengths shorter than 400 nm.
