Product Information
Name:1,2-Epoxydodecane
Brand:Biosynth
Description:1,2-Epoxydodecane is a skin model that can be used to study the immune reaction of epoxides. Epoxydodecane is synthesized by the reaction between sodium carbonate and epichlorohydrin in the presence of an intramolecular hydrogen donor such as dextran. The epoxide product is then reacted with sodium hydroxide to produce 1,2-epoxy-dodecane. The chemical structure of this compound consists of two ester groups and one carboxyl group. The nmr spectra for 1,2-epoxydodecane show peaks at 2.90 ppm, 3.82 ppm, and 4.07 ppm for three different types of protons: methyl protons on the esters, methylene protons on the esters, and protonated carboxylic acid on the carboxyl group. This chemical has been shown to be a good catalyst for nucleoph
