4-Ethylphenylboronic acid is a boronic acid that is used in organic synthesis as a cross-coupling partner. It can be immobilized on solid supports, such as silica gel, to facilitate its use. The compound has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of phosphatases, kinases and other enzymes. 4-Ethylphenylboronic acid has been synthesized using the sodium-dependent glucose process, which is scalable and allows for high product yields. This compound has been shown to inhibit the activity of phosphatase and kinase domains in vitro, with the inhibition being reversible upon removal of the inhibitor.
