1-Ethoxy-2-isocyanatobenzene is a molecule that belongs to the class of amides. It is an acetylcholine receptor agonist and has been shown to inhibit the chemokine response in a radiation-induced inflammatory bowel disease model in mice. 1-Ethoxy-2-isocyanatobenzene also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis. 1-Ethoxy-2-isocyanatobenzene binds to the polymeric matrix of the bowel and inhibits cancer cell growth by affecting the distribution of heterocycles such as nitro groups. This molecule also has anti-cancer properties and has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and induce apoptosis in a number of cancer cell lines including those derived from breast, colon, liver, lung, prostate, and brain cancer.
