Product Information
Name:Ethyl 3-oxobutanoate
Synonyms:
- Ethyl acetoacetate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Ethyl 3-oxobutanoate (E3OB) is a sterically active compound with high values. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of HIV and other retroviruses. E3OB inhibits viral replication by binding to the enzyme reverse transcriptase, which is responsible for converting RNA into DNA. The reaction mechanism of E3OB is as follows: it reacts with the substrate film and forms an ester hydrochloride, which then reacts with malonic acid to form a coumarin derivative. This derivative interacts with wild-type HIV strain and inhibits its replication.
