Brand:Biosynth
Description:Ethyl 3-aminobutanoate is a pyrrole that is found in animal tissues and can act as a potent antagonist of lipase. It has been shown to inhibit the messenger RNA (mRNA) synthesis in rat liver cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit polyamine oxidase activity. The enzyme polyamine oxidase catalyses the conversion of polyamines such as putrescine, spermidine, and spermine into reactive intermediates that can react with DNA bases, proteins and other cellular molecules. Ethyl 3-aminobutanoate inhibits the synthesis of spermidine/spermine N1-acetyltransferase, an enzyme involved in the production of polyamines from acetyl coenzyme A and aminoethanolamine. This inhibition leads to accumulation of polyamines and results in cell death.
