Ethyl 2-acetyldodecanoate is a reversible inhibitor of acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which catalyzes the conversion of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA. This process is essential for the production of fatty acids and cholesterol. Ethyl 2-acetyldodecanoate is a modulator of glutathione transferase, which catalyzes the transfer of reduced glutathione to an electrophilic compound. It also inhibits coumarin nucleus metabolism by competitive inhibition of cytosolic calreticulin.
