Product Information
- 4-Thiazolecarboxylic acid, 2,5-dibromo-, ethyl ester
- Ethyl 2,5-dibromo-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylate
Ethyl 2,5-dibromothiazole-4-carboxylate is an asymmetric analogue of the thiazole that has been shown to be biologically active. The compound has been synthesized in an asymmetric synthesis by using a chiral auxiliary. This auxiliary is formed as a result of a reaction between ethyl acetoacetate and 2,5-dibromothiazol-4-carboxylic acid. This reaction was conducted in the presence of sodium methoxide and potassium t-butoxide at room temperature for six hours.
