Product Information
Doxorubicin is a cancer drug that belongs to the group of cytotoxic drugs. It is an elemental, water-soluble compound that has been shown to have anticancer activity. Doxorubicin acts by binding to DNA and inhibiting DNA synthesis and protein synthesis by inactivating ribosomes. Doxorubicin has been shown to inhibit the growth of carcinoma cells, such as HepG2 cells, at low concentrations and kill these cells at high concentrations. Doxorubicin also inhibits the growth of hematopoietic progenitor cells and can be used for the treatment of leukemia or lymphoma.
