7-(Ethylamino)-4-methylcoumarin is a synthetic compound that can be used to study the transfer mechanism of coumarins from human serum. It is also used in wastewater treatment and as an organic chemical intermediate. 7-(Ethylamino)-4-methylcoumarin has been shown to stabilize coumarin derivatives and has spontaneous decomposition when it is not stabilized. The bond cleavage of this compound occurs with kinetic rates that are dependent on its macrocyclic structure.
