It also has been shown to increase the proliferation of epidermal cells and stimulate the synthesis of EGF. Clinical studies have shown that efaproxiral sodium can be used as a radiosensitizer in patients with cancer. Efaproxiral sodium is structurally related to sildenafil, which is used for erectile dysfunction.
