Ref. 3D-FE152357

Product Information
Name:4-Ethylcyclohexene
Brand:Biosynth
Description:4-Ethylcyclohexene is a compound that is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of chemicals. It is obtained by ring-opening of the cyclohexene molecule with the addition of halides. The reaction proceeds with high yields and selectivity when using homogeneous catalysts such as ruthenium, which are able to catalyze both the ring-opening and the subsequent halide addition reactions. The transformation of 4-ethylcyclohexene to 4-propylcyclohexene can be carried out using protonation or nitrate. The conversion from 4-propylcyclohexene to 4-butylcyclohexene can be accomplished by oxidation with oxygen or peroxide, followed by hydrogenation, or by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
