Description

Ethyl propionate is a carboxylic acid and an ester of acetic acid. It is used in the preparation of pharmaceuticals, such as kinase inhibitors, and as a solvent for the synthesis of plastics. Ethyl propionate has inhibitory effects on protein kinases and can be used to treat neurodegenerative disorders. This chemical is also used in the production of ethyl acetate, which is a solvent that dissolves cellulose fibers in papermaking and textile processing. The average particle size of this compound is less than 1 micron.
