Ecopipam is an antagonist drug that blocks the 5-HT2A receptor. It has been shown to have a high affinity for this receptor, and it is one of the most potent antagonists in its class. Ecopipam has been shown to cause a reduction in locomotor activity in rats when administered at low doses and to inhibit brain functions such as dopamine release, although these effects are not observed at higher doses. This drug also has side-effects such as drowsiness and sedation, which may be due to its effect on brain function. Ecopipam does not seem to have any significant interactions with other drugs, and is therefore safe for use in combination with other drugs.
