Product Information
Echimidine N-oxide (ECHN) is a metabolite of the alkaloid intermedine. It has been found to be an active metabolite in rat liver microsomes, with a high uptake and peak values in human liver. ECHN is also the n-oxide derivative of lasiocarpine, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. The chemical structure of ECHN has not yet been determined, but it is thought to be similar to other boraginaceae alkaloids. It is possible that this compound may also have anti-inflammatory properties as well as other pharmaceutical uses.
