Product Information
- 4-ethyl-1H-imidazole
4-Ethyl-1H-imidazole is a hydrogenated molecule of the diatomic type. It belongs to the class of organic compounds known as heterocycles. 4-Ethyl-1H-imidazole is a functional group that contains a histidine residue. This functional group can be found in the active site of enzymes, such as those which catalyze the conversion of ammonia to urea, and has been shown to play an important role in the reaction mechanism. The reaction products are usually tautomers, which are structurally similar but differ in their chemical behavior. 4-Ethyl-1H-imidazole has been identified as a metal ion donor by reacting with trifluoride ion and nitrous oxide to form HN=C=O and NO 2 .
