Description

(S)-(-)-1,2-Epoxy-5-hexene is a chiral molecule that is a fatty acid. It has been shown to be an agonist of the CB2 receptor in mouse macrophages and to have anti-inflammatory properties that are mediated by the activation of the CB2 receptor. The compound does not have any activity on the CB1 or CB3 receptors, but it does bind to the cb2 receptor with high affinity. The compound was also found to be effective in vivo in inhibiting inflammation. The molecule showed good efficacy when used at low doses and was not cytotoxic. (S)-(-)-1,2-Epoxy-5-hexene is an acidic natural product.
