Ethyl 2-chloropropionate is an organic compound that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It is a colorless liquid with a characteristic smell. Ethyl 2-chloropropionate has been shown to be a nucleophilic, aromatic hydrocarbon that reacts with electrophiles such as copper chloride and ethyl formate.
