Product Information
Name:Ethyl-4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carbaldehyde
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Ethyl-4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carbaldehyde is a synthetic drug that is used as a cross-coupling agent in organic synthesis. It is also used to produce antiretroviral therapies. The functional theory explains the reaction mechanism of this drug. In the nucleophilic addition step, ethyl-4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carbaldehyde attacks the electrophilic carbon atom of the alkyl halide and forms a carbon-carbon bond with it. Hydrogenation reduction is then performed to remove any electron density that may be present on the oxygen atoms. This process produces monoethyl and dimethyl ethers, which are later hydrolyzed to form ethyl esters and methylated quinolones.
