This chemical reacts with alkynes to form a polymer film that can be developed into a high resolution microfilm using a solvent such as acetone. The addition of additives such as ethers or ketones can also affect the reactivity of this chemical. 2-Ethoxyethyl cyanoacetate reacts with uv irradiation to produce a reactive compound that reacts with amines or alcohols to form stable adducts.
