Product Information
4-Ethynyl-benzoic acid is a reactive monomer that can exist in two tautomeric forms, the enol form (4-hydroxybenzoic acid) and the keto form (4-ketobenzoic acid). The enol form is more stable than the keto form. 4-Ethynyl-benzoic acid has been shown to react with chlorine atom to produce chlorinated 4-ethynylbenzoyl chloride, which can be used for the production of various organic compounds. This compound also reacts with amines to produce substituted benzenes. 4-Ethynylbenzoic acid is commonly used as a building block in organic synthesis.
