Product Information
Name:Ethyl (Trimethylsilyl)acetate
Synonyms:
- ETSA(Trimethylsilyl)acetic Acid Ethyl Ester
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Ethyl (trimethylsilyl)acetate is an organic compound that is used as a reactant in chemical synthesis. It has been shown to be an efficient biocide against bacteria and fungi, but not resistant to tetracycline. Ethyl (trimethylsilyl)acetate can also be used as a dry weighting agent for polymer films, which are biocompatible polymers. This compound has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The antimicrobial activity of ethyl (trimethylsilyl)acetate may be attributed to its ability to disrupt bacterial membranes by reacting with the hydroxyl group on the cell wall. This compound is synthesized from ethylene diamine and sodium salts, which are heated with dibutyltin oxide to produce ethyl (trimethylsilyl
