Ethynyl p-tolyl sulfone is a molecule that can be synthesized by an asymmetric synthesis. It is used as a cross-linking agent in the synthesis of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and methyl anthranilate, a compound that has been identified as a key component in the synthesis of several biologically active compounds.
This molecule can also be used to synthesize Candida glabrata and Cryptococcus neoformans.
Ethynyl p-tolyl sulfone can also be used to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Toxoplasma gondii, Candida albicans, and other bacteria.
