Description:
1-Ethylpyrrole is a reactive, hydroxyl-containing fatty acid that has been shown to inhibit neuronal function and growth factor production. 1-Ethylpyrrole inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids by inhibiting the enzymes involved in their production. It also inhibits the production of other chemicals such as phospholipids and leukotrienes that are important for cell signaling. 1-Ethylpyrrole has been shown to inhibit toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling, which is an inflammatory response that occurs when cells come into contact with bacteria or bacterial products. 1-Ethylpyrrole may be a potent inhibitor of TLR4 signaling due to its ability to react with free fatty acids in a nucleophilic substitution reaction mechanism.
