Eburicoic acid is a natural compound that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of hepatic steatosis. It has also been shown to have a hypoglycemic effect, and hepatoprotective properties. Eburicoic acid has been found to inhibit the transfer reactions between proteins and lipids, which leads to cell lysis. Additionally, it inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential in cells, leading to cell death by necrosis. Eburicoic acid also shows significant cytotoxicity against HL-60 cells with a high degree of specificity for these cancer cells. This compound is able to increase locomotor activity and improve performance on rotarod tests in mice.
