Epitriptolide is a diterpenoid triepoxide that is known to have anticancer activity. It is able to modulate the cancer cell membrane, enhancing its permeability and leading to cellular death. Epitriptolide has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human lung adenocarcinoma cells in vitro. It also inhibits the growth of human colon adenocarcinoma cells in vivo. This drug interacts with biomimetic systems and induces alkylation reactions on protein amino groups, which may contribute to its anticancer activity.
