Product Information
Erythrodiol is a lipid that belongs to the class of fatty acids. It has been shown to have biological activities that include the inhibition of ATP-binding cassette transporter and p-hydroxybenzoic acid. Erythrodiol also inhibits acetate extract from rat liver microsomes and human macrophages, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species. Erythrodiol has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity in skin cancer cells, as well as oxidative injury in samples that are exposed to light for an extended period of time. This compound also has antibacterial properties against infectious diseases like malaria, tuberculosis, and herpes simplex virus type 1.
