Description:DL-Erythro-dihydrosphingosine synthetic is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that blocks the activity of Bcl-2, a protein involved in apoptosis. This compound has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in hl-60 cells and squamous cell carcinomas. DL-Erythro-dihydrosphingosine synthetic also inhibits the matrix metalloproteinase activity of MMPs, which are enzymes that degrade the extracellular matrix and can cause cancer cell invasion and metastasis. The optimum concentration for this compound is 1 µM.
