- Enterostatin, Human
Enterostatin is a peptide hormone that was originally purified from the human small intestine. It has been shown to help regulate the metabolism of nutrients and energy in humans, as well as helping to regulate appetite. Enterostatin has been shown to bind to specific receptors on adipose tissue and activate a number of metabolic processes, including glucose uptake, lipolysis, and thermogenesis. Enterostatin also regulates the production of monoamines such as serotonin and dopamine.
