Description:RET inhibitors are a class of drugs that inhibit the RET protein. RET is a tyrosine kinase receptor that is involved in many functions, including neuronal function and tumor growth. The RET inhibitor cabozantinib has been shown to inhibit the activity of human cyp3a4, which is a cytochrome P450 enzyme responsible for metabolizing many medications. This property makes it more selective than other drugs in its class. Cabozantinib binds to the ATP-binding pocket of RET, inhibiting its kinase activity, leading to cell death.
