Description:

Furazidin is a biocompatible polymer that has been shown to be effective as an antimicrobial agent against bacterial infection. Furazidin has minimal toxicity, genotoxic activity, and high antimicrobial efficacy. It also inhibits the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. Furazidin can cause some water vapor release when exposed to moisture in the atmosphere, but this is not enough to affect the environment. Furazidin is effective against urinary infections and microbial infections, such as bowel disease and chronic pulmonary infections. It may also have potential for use in other diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease or bronchitis. Furazidin does not show any significant resistance to microbes during treatment with antibiotics.
