The drug also inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting caspase-2, which is an enzyme involved in the production of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. 4-Fluorophenylhydrazine has been shown to be active against tuberculosis bacteria. It binds to the mycobacterial 16S ribosomal RNA and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. 4-
