Description:

Fenoflurazole is a halogenated pyridine derivative that is used as a pesticide. Fenoflurazole binds to the mitochondria of pests and prevents the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This causes respiratory control, which leads to death. The insecticide also inhibits the transport chain in insects, preventing the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), which are both required for cellular respiration. Fenoflurazole has been shown to be an effective pesticide against various pest species, such as aphids, spiders, beetles, ants, and mosquitoes. It has been shown to have no effect on c1-c4 haloalkyls or chlorine atoms.
