Description

1-(4-fluorophenyl)-n-methylmethanamine (1FPM) is a tetrabutyl amine that can be used as medicine. It is obtained by electrochemical reduction of 1,4-dichlorobenzene using a metal catalyst. The catalytic reaction produces the desired product in high yield and with no byproducts. The impurity levels are low (1% perchlorate) and the process is scalable to large industrial scales.
