Product Information
Fmoc-Asn(Trt)-Gly-OH is a peptide that can be synthesized from the N-terminal to the C-terminal in two steps. The first step is solid-phase synthesis, which involves attaching amino acids to a solid support by means of an amide bond. In the second step, cleavage of the peptide from the support is performed by exposure to acid or base. Fmoc-Asn(Trt)-Gly-OH has been used in bivalirudin and other drugs that inhibit thrombin activity. Solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) is a technique for assembling peptides one amino acid at a time on a solid support, typically with an automated machine. It's also known as "resin synthesis". This method was developed by Bruce Merrifield in 1963 and is now widely used because it provides high yields of pure products with short lead times.
