Fmoc-Lys(Boc)-Pro-OH is a residue that is used in the optimization of peptide synthesis. It is an acid labile protecting group that can be removed by treatment with trichloroacetic acid or hydrogen fluoride. Fmoc-Lys(Boc)-Pro-OH can be used for chemical ligation to other protected amino acids, such as Boc-Lys(Bzl)-OH, to form peptides. The residue has been shown to be useful in systematic optimization of peptide pairings and in the stepwise synthesis of peptides. The residue has also been shown to have a high yield and purity when synthesized by x-ray crystallography.
Fmoc-Lys(Boc)-Pro-OH is an amino acid with a molecular weight of 120 Da and consists of two alpha amino acids, L -lysine and L -proline, joined by a peptide bond.
