3-Formyl-2-pyridinyl-N-(2,2-dimethylpropanoyl)amide is an intramolecular condensation product of formaldehyde and 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde. The compound exists as two enantiomers, with the thermochromic properties being dependent on its tautomerization equilibrium. 3-Formyl-2-pyridinyl-N-(2,2-dimethylpropanoyl)amide can be isolated in different crystalline forms. The elemental analysis of this compound was conducted using x-ray crystallography.
