Fluperolone acetate is a synthetic steroid that has been used as an anti-inflammatory agent. It is a potent corticosteroid and has been shown to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi. Fluperolone acetate does not cross the blood-brain barrier into the central nervous system, so it can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases in the eye without affecting vision.
