This compound was discovered by structural studies of phenacyl compounds. The structure of 4-formyl antipyrine is similar to that of nitrobenzene with the addition of a thione group. The reaction product with hydrochloric acid yields covid-19 pandemic which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
