- 3-(2-Formylphenyl)acrylic acid3-(2-Formylphenyl)-2-propenoic acid
Brand:Biosynth
Description:2-Formylcinnamic acid is a gaseous compound with a molecular weight of 132.19. It is formed by the reaction of naphthalene and phthalic anhydride in the presence of oxygen and light. 2-Formylcinnamic acid has been shown to be mediated by lysosomes in human neutrophils, which may be due to its ability to induce oxidative stress. This chemical also has been shown to produce particle formation when exposed to light, as demonstrated using a spectrometer. The reaction products of 2-formylcinnamic acid are unidentified, however it has been observed that it reacts with nitrobenzene to form 3-nitrophthalic anhydride, which is used in the production of rubber and plastics.
