Description:MAM 2201 is a novel, potent, selective CB2 receptor agonist with high affinity for the CB2 receptor. The compound has a favorable pharmacokinetic profile and displays low acute toxicity in vivo. It is also highly selective for the CB2 receptor and does not interact with other receptors or ion channels in vitro. MAM 2201 is metabolized by CYP3A4 to an active metabolite that binds to the CB2 receptor with high affinity. The drug also inhibits energy metabolism in cells, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effect.
