Description:

1-(2-Furyl)propan-1-one is a carbonyl compound that is used as a model system for the study of reactions of carbonyl compounds. It can also be used to prepare a sample for analysis using a flow system. This compound reacts with tyrosinase to form reaction products. The hydroxyl group on 1-(2-furyl)propan-1-one reacts with furfural, forming an acylhydrazone and releasing volatile oil.
