Product Information
- Piperidine, 4-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]-
4-(4'-Fluorobenzyl)piperidine is a non-competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme in a reversible and competitive manner, with low affinity for the enzyme. 4-(4'-Fluorobenzyl)piperidine has also been shown to be a radioprobe and positron emission tomography (PET) tracer in biochemical and structural studies. The compound is an analog of piperidine, which was used as a starting point for modification to produce 4-(4'-fluorobenzyl)piperidine. This modification led to the replacement of the hydroxyl group with fluorine at the 4 position on benzene ring. The solvents used for this synthesis include dichloromethane, chloroform, acetone, ethanol, methanol, acetic acid and water.
