4-Flurobenzenesulfinic acid sodium salt is a reagent that can be used in organic synthesis. It is prepared by the reaction of sodium hydrogen with 4-fluorobenzenesulfonic acid in a 1:1 molar ratio in the presence of carbon and a suitable oxidizing agent, such as peroxide or chlorosulphonic acid. This reagent can also be prepared from 4-fluorobenzenesulfonic acid by reacting it with sodium hydroxide in ethanol or water. The reagents are soluble in organic solvents and are stable for long periods of time at room temperature.
4-Fluoro benzenesulfinic acid sodium salt is used to cleave bonds via cross-coupling reactions with other molecules and has been shown to be efficient for biomolecular applications, such as the preparation of peptides from amino acids. Due to its ability to cleave bonds, this reagent is often
