Ref. 3D-FF47351

Product Information
- Fmoc-D-Phe-OH
Fmoc-D-phenylalanine is a synthetic amino acid that is used as a substrate in solid-phase peptide synthesis. It binds to the enzyme D-phenylalanine racemase, which catalyzes the conversion of L-DOPA to dopamine, and also inhibits the enzyme D-amino acid oxidase, which converts L-DOPA to 3,4 dihydroxyphenylacetic acid. Fmoc-D-phenylalanine has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice by inhibiting integrin receptor binding and uptake of extracellular matrix proteins. This inhibition leads to decreased metastasis and tumor cell death. Fmoc-D-phenylalanine has also been shown to be an efficient method for synthesizing cyclic lipopeptides and cyclic peptides with antimicrobial activity.
