Fmoc-L-proline N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) reagent used in the synthesis of bivalirudin. It is a tripeptide that is synthesized by reacting L-proline with succinic anhydride, followed by reaction with hydroxysuccinimide, and finally coupling with N-hydroxysuccinimide ester. The product can be purified by recrystallization or liquid chromatography. This reagent has been shown to be effective for the production of pentapeptides under mild reaction conditions. Fmoc-L-proline N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is also stable and high yielding.
