Description:N-alpha-Fmoc-Nepsilon-methyltrityl-L-lysine is a synthetic amino acid that is used in the industrial production of peptides. It has been used for the synthesis of polypeptides, which are made up of chains of amino acids, and to analyze uptake in urine samples. The uptake was tracked by using a trifluoroacetic acid analog to radiolabel the N-alpha-Fmoc-Nepsilon-methyltrityl-L-lysine. This analog was synthesized from histidine and butyric acid, and its carboxy terminal sequence was determined by solid phase synthesis. N-alpha-Fmoc-Nepsilon methyltrityl L Lysine binds to the receptor site on cells that is responsible for binding histidine residues on proteins.
